Like many other charities in 2020, PathFinders was hit by the global pandemic, cancelled their annual fundraising dinner, and was forced to make significant budget cuts. All this on top of the risk of loss of their safe shelter -- Hong Kong's only shelter welcoming foreign domestic workers that is set up for pregnant women, mothers and babies. Through 7 fundraisers -- which included corporate and individual fundraisers as well as the team at PathFinders -- they raised over HK$1 million through over 350 individual and corporate supporters.

How are funds received?

Funds raised for your own cause will go directly to your chosen payment processing account.

The Society for AIDS Care holds an AIDS Walk every year. In addition to selling tickets to participate in the walk, they invite their board and supporters to create fundraising pages to raise more funds. In 2019, they raised over HK$140k on top of their normal ticket sales from 14 individual fundraising pages.

Members on SparkRaise can create Master Campaigns connected to their PayPal or Stripe accounts. Master Campaigns are the top level seniority campaign on SparkRaise and you can easily toggle to allow fundraising pages connected to that Master Campaign. When toggled, anyone can create a fundraising page on behalf of the Master Campaign with funds going directly to the same account.

Peer to peer fundraising is included with every membership and there are no additional fees for this service. Creating a fundraising page is free for supporters and fundraisers.

As with other fundraising methods on SparkRaise, supporters are charged immediately and funds instantly delivered to your account.

We are integrated with PayPal and Stripe to allow smooth and secure payment processing. All funds raised via SparkRaise go through either PayPal or Stripe, ensuring payments are securely transacted.

All payments are handled by either PayPal or Stripe, which are certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1 — the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

You will need to have either a PayPal and/or Stripe account in order to enable peer to peer fundraising on SparkRaise. By connecting your chosen payment processing account to your Master Campaign, you are able to receive funds directly via the Master Campaign and also from any fundraising pages connected to it.

The Master Campaign creator receives funds raised from all fundraising pages connected to it. For example, if you are a nonprofit that creates a Master Campaign, your supporters can create fundraising pages that are automatically connected with it and funds will go directly to the account you set up with your Master Campaign.
